The advantage of the TTP229 module is the number of output lines: the module can provide outputs using the eight output lines that allow us to check the state of the first eight buttons, or we can use the serial communication line to read the output through the I2C protocol.
Using with Arduino
To communicate via I2C with the module, we need to connect the SCL line to pin 13 and SDO to pin 12 of the Arduino board. The assembly is in the figure below:
