This USB-C PD Trigger module lets you quickly obtain a stable DC voltage directly from a USB-C Power Delivery (PD) charger or a modern power bank. By simply setting the three micro-switches (S1–S3), the module automatically negotiates with the PD source and provides one of the predefined voltages on the VCC/GND pads: 5 V, 9 V, 12 V, 15 V or 20 V.

It is perfect for prototypes, powering development boards, testing DC-DC converters, or for portable projects where you want to use a single USB-C charger instead of multiple adapters.

Technical details

• Standard: USB Power Delivery (PD trigger – requests the chosen profile using S1/S2/S3).
• Selectable voltages: 5 V / 9 V / 12 V / 15 V / 20 V (according to the printed table).
• Input: USB Type-C (charger or power bank that supports PD).
• Output: VCC and GND pads (2.54 mm pitch) with the negotiated voltage.
• Profile selection: 3 micro DIP switches (S1–S3). It is recommended to change switches only when the module is unpowered.
• Maximum current: limited by the PD source and by the module traces; in practice use thick cables and keep a safety margin.
• Notes: the module negotiates the voltage; it does not include reverse-polarity protection or short-circuit protection — add protection in your design if required.
• Compatibility: common USB-C/PD chargers; not guaranteed to work with adapters that do not support PD.

Usage recommendations:

• select the S1–S3 profile before connecting to the PD source;
• do not change the switches while the module is powered;
• for higher currents, use short wires with appropriate cross-section;
• if powering sensitive equipment, add a fuse or current limiter.
